When you start getting near the end of your Invisalign treatment you might begin wondering what happens next. Here’s what to expect once your treatment is complete!
Often our Invisalign patients decide to undergo teeth whitening once their treatment is complete. Teeth whitening helps to complete the look and highlight their straight new smiles!
If you think that you'd like to whiten your teeth, please make an appointment to discuss your options with your Delta dentist at Ladner Village Dental any time!
The maintenance portion of your orthodontic treatment will begin as soon as your Invisalign treatment is complete.
As a result of the straightening process, following any orthodontic treatment the teeth will not be as firmly set in the surrounding tissues as they once were. To keep your teeth from shifting back out of position over time, you will need to wear a retainer.
Your teeth are going to need a little time to settle into their new positions so you will likely need to wear a retainer full-time at first. However, after awhile you will likely be able to downgrade to part-time retainer wear. Part-time wear might mean wearing your retainer only on certain days in a week, or just at night. Your dentist will let you know what's best for your beautiful new straight smile.
Regular Dental Checkups
Once your Invisalign treatment is over you’ll still have to keep visiting your dentist regularly for checkups and cleanings. The good news is that you’ll no longer have to attend the extra Invisalign-specific checkup appointments. So we’ll still be seeing you regularly, it just won’t be as often!
A Straight, Beautiful Smile
It goes without saying that the very best thing about being done with your Invisalign treatment will be the beautiful, straight smile you’ll have as a result! Congratulations!
